MISSION AND VISION 2011-2012

This year North Atlanta Volleyball Club (NAVC) celebrates 20 years of excellence!  NAVC was formed in November 1991 to provide an opportunity for young athletes to improve their volleyball skills in a USA Volleyball Junior Olympic sanctioned program.  NAVC is the longest-running club in Atlanta and we are excited to begin our 20th year with a renewed mission and dedication to our athletes’ success both on and off the court.

NAVC VISION STATEMENT
NAVC’s vision is to be the premier Junior Olympic volleyball program in Atlanta.  We want to be the club that best prepares our athletes for high school and collegiate volleyball.  We want to be the club that develops stronger, better, and smarter student-athletes year after year.

BOARD MEMBERS and COACHES COMMITMENT:

  1. We commit to providing a positive learning environment for our athletes and parents.
  2. We commit to putting the interests of our players before our own.
  3. We commit to making decisions based on what is best for the players and their families in an effort to encourage an honest and healthy environment.
  4. We commit to providing a consistent coaching staff at all levels of play.

NAVC has a board of directors that includes, but is not limited to, parents of members and coaches.  The board meets on a consistent basis before, during, and after the club season.  It is the responsibility of the board to set the base player fees, the general guidelines for the club, and the direction of the club.  The board may hear appeals from parents or players if a player has been suspended or dismissed from any team during the club season.

The NAVC Board of Directors reserves the right to maintain fees collected for operating and maintaining the budget.  Any exceptions or requests for reimbursements, scholarships, or financial aid must be submitted in writing to the NAVC Board of Directors for approval.  NAVC is a non-profit organization. Our club’s budget is set by the number of players selected to the teams.

NAVC MISSION STATEMENT
Our primary mission is to encourage the development of skills and techniques necessary for Junior Olympic players to compete at a high level in the game of volleyball.  We will focus on the physical, mental, and emotional development of all players.  We will achieve this mission through the following goals:

  1. To instill and encourage a positive and constructive attitude towards the game, teammates, coaches, and others associated with the game.
  2. To encourage players to make a commitment to self-improvement and to develop goals in order to fulfill this commitment.
  3. To help players develop a sense of teamwork and cooperation in a competitive atmosphere.
  4. To offer a consistent coaching staff from the first time a player enters a gym through high school graduation.  NAVC will insist on uniformity throughout our coaching process and mandatory coaching clinics for all coaches and assistants.
  5. To ensure an “open door” communication policy for all players and parents with their coach, assistant coach, Board Members, and Club Director.
  6. To run a well-organized club consisting of the following:  tryouts, clinics, practices, tournaments, fundraisers, social events, and community involvement.

The success of our athletes and club is best measured by the following: (1) sincere, self-disciplined, and persistent efforts to improve, fulfill commitments, and attain goals; (2) individual skills improvement and; (3) team improvement over the course of the club season.

PARENTAL SUPPORT AND INVOLVEMENT
Support and cooperation of all player parents in planning, preparing, organizing and carrying out any and all club or team activities is important for this club to succeed in fulfilling its mission.
